I had the good fortune to attend the 2013 AAW symposium in Tampa Florida from June 27 – 30. During this time I participated in a roundtable discussion on turning with challenges with another turner who is blind along with two turners in wheelchairs. I attended many great demonstrations. On Sunday I turned a lidded box in the Robust lathe booth. They have a very nice lathe.
On Friday I purchased a bowl gouge from Thompson Lathe tools. I requested a bowl gouge with an Irish grind. Jimmy Clewes was in the booth and was able to sharpen the new gouge for me.
On Saturday evening from 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM, July 23, 2011 I showed my works at the German Village Art Crawl. I am happy to have met and talked with all the new attendees and those who have visited my booth in the past i loved this.
On Monday February 7, 2011 I had the opportunity to take a turning lesson from Kirk DeHeer from Utah. Kirk showed me how to turn a square bowl follow this link. You can see many pictures from my day with Kirk on Flicker.
Below are a couple pictures from that very productive day.
