I had the opportunity to exhibit my works at the German Village Art Crawl, held Saturday evening from 6:00 PM until 10:00 PM at Macon Alley (between Frankfort and Whittier). Thanks to everyone who had stopped in to visit my wife, Genia and me.

I had the opportunity to display my work, “Trilogy for Ike” in my first juried art exhibition. It was the Unify 1st German Village Art League exhibition May 22nd - June 30th, 2009 at Caterina Ltd. This exhibition was based to unite artists, friends, organizations and individuals with each other. Each artist was asked to submit work they currently represent. I also had the honor of being the only artist to sell their work during the opening night reception. |

Not only did we triple last year’s sales, we also received many kind words of encouragement. Thanks to all that stopped by our table. |

I had the opportunity to spend the day with a great French woodturner Jean-Francois Escoule on October 13, 2009. During our day together Jean-Francois worked with me on my spindle gouge techniques along with the use of the bedan. We made a candle holder and an egg during our time together. To learn more about my experience, check out my article in the Central Ohio Woodturner's November 2009 newsletter.
Below you will find a picture of Jean-Francois and myself trying out the bedan. |

In my professional work I am a manager in the Information Technology area. As a way to give back I have mentored students who are blind. I am now participating in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) program at The Ohio State University. You can read more about this and watch a video. During the video you can see me turning a honey dipper. |

In the Spring 2009 issue of The Journal of the American Association of Woodturners" I have been able to publish an article about the challenges I face as a person who is blind and as a woodturner. I have been given the permission to present this AAW article in my web page. |

In September 2008, Columbus Ohio actually had hurricane Ike come through causing many problems and some benefits. For the woodturner hundreds of fallen trees free for the taking are a good thing. I was fortunate that some good friends at work helped me acquire many pieces of wood from a very large Maple tree. The article at American Electric Power (AEP) where I work discusses the hurricane and also some other things about my work. The feedback I received by my coworkers was humbling. I have been given the approval to reprint this article in my web page. |
|
I am pleased to have my shop and works featured in the November 2008 issue of Woodturning magazine. This magazine reaches woodturners in 60 countries. The article comes in 3 pages. Page 1, page 2, and page 3. |

In April 2008, I had the opportunity to study under Robert Rosand, one of the great woodturners in the United States. I have an article of my trip to Robert's shop in the May 2008 issue of the Central Ohio Woodturner Newsletter |
